Winter Wedding Inspiration

Happy New Year!

With settling into 2023, I’ve had time to reminisce on the many wonderful events I’ve played within the past year. 2022 wedding season was filled with breathtaking views, sweet summer ceremonies, beautiful venues, and, as always…lovely couples who allow me to be apart of their day.

But! I’ve also played during a few off-season winter ceremonies that were equally as lovely!

Are you planning a winter wedding?

With wedding inspiration primarily based around the typical wedding season months of warmer temperatures, summer flowers, and sleeveless gowns, I think it’s time for winter weddings to receive the appreciation and attention they deserve! Keep reading for my favorite winter wedding themes and inspiration!

Winter Wonderland

From lush, white florals, light shades of blue, to sparkling icicle lighting, this winter wedding theme is by far the most elegant! Imagine bridesmaids with white faux fur coats, imitation snow scattered down the isle, and a winter princess of a bride. Saying ‘I do’ in a winter wonderland is a dream within itself!

Holiday-Inspired

Are the holidays your favorite time of the year? Does the classic holiday decorating and ‘holiday spirit’ excite you? Then this may be the wedding theme for you! Picture a beautifully lit Christmas tree behind you at the altar, red poinsettias around the room, and the smell of pine needles filling the air! Why not join the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ with the most wonderful day of your lives!

Mountain Lodge Magic

Are you an adventurous couple who enjoys weekend getaways spent on the slopes? Combine your love for each other with your love for winter activities by considering a rustic, mountain lodge wedding. Commemorate your marriage with mulled wine and hot chocolate on deck and convince loved ones to join the following day in skiing your first slope as newlyweds!

By the Fireplace

Do you imagine a more laid back, cozy vibe for your wedding day? With guests snuggled up in blankets awaiting your arrival and candle lighting guiding you down the aisle…there’s something magical about a firelit room filled with love and loved ones!

Sparkling Winter Night

Why not consider an evening ceremony with similar vibes to saying ‘I do’ by the fireplace? Picture a dim room decorated with pine trees and twinkling lights that reflect off the sequins of your wedding dress and that highlight the sparkle in your eye on your special day. What a simple, yet beautiful event it would be!

Snowy Mountain Elopement

If you were looking for a sign to elope, this is it! Eloping isn’t always Las Vegas or white sand beaches in the tropics. Eloping in the winter can look like hiking 1000ft. at sunrise or sunset, switching from hiking boots to wedding shoes on top of a snowy mountain, and promising forever to your person with a mountainous skyline backdrop. If you’re a couple who enjoys snow and mountains, this is an incredible elopement idea to consider!
